Lip Blush Before and After

Lip Blush Before & After

Lip Blush - see photos here!

Also known as Phicontour, lip blush is a semi-permanent makeup technique created by the Phiacademy. This method inserts pigment into the very top layer of the dermis (only about half millimeter depth).

With the use of disposable and sterilized tools, thousands of minute pigment dots are inserted giving your lips the color and shape they need. Healing takes four to five weeks. After following up with minor touchup, the result will last from 12 to 18 months depending on skin type, skin conditions, medication, and lifestyle. Naturally dark lips need to be neutralized before achieving desired results. More than just one touchup might be needed in this case.

*** Currently NOT offering dark lips neutralization.***

How to Prepare for Your Lip Blush Appointment

    • Any medication with blood thinning effect

    • Caffeine & alcohol intake 24 hours prior to procedure

    • Retinol, stop it five days prior and after

    • Botox or fillers (six weeks)

    • Facials one week prior

    • Strong chemical skin treatments (six weeks)

    • Sunburn (until skin/lips have healed)

    • Tanning (one week)

    • Makeup on lips

    • Rubbing lips

    • Facials and massages (avoid during the first six weeks)

    • Fillers and Botox (avoid during the first six weeks)

  • ·      Minor Touchup (must be done six or seven weeks after initial session and no longer than after the twelfth week). As with all artistic semi-permanent makeup creations, a touchup will be needed in order to see the desired results. The touchup can be performed six weeks after the main procedure, NOT BEFORE. Our skin renews its living cycle every 30 days; however, the lips’ skin lacks sebaceous glans, sweat gland and hair follicles which make that area more sensitive than other parts of the face. If any invasive treatment is done during the first 45 days of healing, the results will be altered, and skin might get damaged.

Yearly Touchup recommended to maintain the freshness of color and shape of your lips.

  • A semi-permanent makeup procedure, just like any other permanent makeup services, needs to go through a healing time before seeing results. The healing process takes 45 days, and it is divided in four stages.

During the first stage, lips will be darker than desired color.

During the second stage, lips will most likely scab.

Through the third stage, the pigments will fade a little; this is normal.

When the lips get to the fourth part of the healing process, the pigment will return and settle, and the result will be visible. Lips will be about 40-50% lighter than initial color. Same healing time applies for touchups.
